Have you ever watched a movie that made you cry? How about scream or laugh?
...perhaps get ya a lil bit turned on?! ;)
Okay, so I am in 6th grade... No no no, I'm not going to share with you how the butt scene in "Love & Basketball" got me all hot and bothered. Ya'll can subscribe to my super secret blog for that one.
I am in 6th grade at a girls/boys party. We are all crammed in the movie room watching - "Carrie."

Yes. This one.
My tiny boobs were on point that night and I was probably flirting with half the boys in the room all in attempts to distract myself from this awful movie. No secret - I hate horror films and still check under my bed at night because of it.
The energy in the room starts to shift as I am cued to shut-up and watch the "best part." If you have yet to view this classic, I might ruin it for you. Pause, go watch, and come back.
Otherwise... the blood scene. This sweet and terribly kind teenager just trying her best... gets PIG BLOOD dumped on her at Prom.
I, no joke folks... start to get super light headed.. and passed out. First time. Ten or eleven years old. Blacked out.
So let's bring it back. Was this actually happening to me? Did Noah in the adored film, "The Notebook," scream at me saying, "I wrote you every single day!" Or how about singing along with Buddy the Elf in the shower scene with Jovie to "Baby it's cold outside" as if you were the janitor mopping the floor nearby.
Ha - clearly not! But did I... or you... bawl? sing? cry? pass out?
... replay that booty scene in L&B?
Humans - we are empathetic beings. We feel. It sucks. It's hard.
It is also next level. It is exhilarating and profound.
Can it literally be debilitating at times - yes. So lets tap into this power; it exists in our minds, our imaginations.
"If we are willing, we can with increasing effectiveness use active imagination to wipe away everything from those old recordings. It will however, require us letting go of our past attachment to guilt and fear." -Ms. Jackson
Allow yourself to feel but let it pass too. When it feels like too much, use your beautiful mind to take you to a scene that will bring your nervous system back from the battlefield. Sit with that and take long slow deep breaths. Create an incredible story that is yours within and note how your body responds.
Magic?
I think Human.
