in order to thrive all organisms search for their optimal niche
I believe as evolving *Homo sapiens, this, not only includes physiology (temperature/pH/dietary needs/amount of sleep) but also mentality, and spirituality.
Physiology
What is my #/type that makes me feel like I can perform my best be that a lover, civilian making a living, friend, sister, daughter… you get the point.
Quick dive - what macromolecules fuel me the best (and serving size)? How much pillow time does my cranial mania need in order to feel… like my feet are actually touching the ground?
Okay: I know I like to feel strength throughout every major/minor muscle. I love feeling the heavy beat of my heart. A carnivore based diet with fruit as my main source of carbohydrates has been meeting that demand. I am able to push myself further physically each week. I can see the results.
Next - how much sleep? Yeah… still working on this one.
Mentality
Surround myself with like minded-people. Those willing to get comfortable with being uncomfortable - seekers of the next challenge, the next building block… the point to where you cannot lift your body up anymore kind of people. Or, when you fall - you have that sick smile to your face. god bless the psychos. I also must mention reading - you know, once you "Pop." Get at me Julius Pringle.
Spirituality
Comes in the form of nature. I get high off of mountain tops and rocks that stay cuddled under the ancestral moss blankets (so adorable). This has got to be a mutualistic relationship. And because this is under the category of spirituality - I claim it as fact - rocks are alive ;) But what I am really coming to terms with…underneath the name “ali,” is that this Spirit comes to preach in the Ocean. It honestly sometimes makes my wannabe cool kid embarrassed, like “Yo!” stop smiling so much - you are giving it away that you have a crush! She just cannot embody it enough.
So… Evolution: Change over time. We have micro evolutions in our day to day, year to year as an organism but we also have macro evolution in our species. Peeps - this all takes time. A neat thing about being human in your own micro evolutionary pace is that, although you cannot control a whole lot (phew actually) - you can control the rate. Get to know yourself. Perform tiny experiments with your cells - **holler at me if you wanna know the steps to this. Literally put your body in new environments or situations and ask yourself how that was for you. Don’t be shy if you liked it ;) Own it. This is you.
So um, Sea Empathy… you know that thing that allows you to understand others. Let's make sure to put yourself first. Trust it, through that process, the Sea part will become a piece that was already there.
I love you.
*Nerd Alert: If you were hand-writing a species name and cannot write in italics, make sure to underline it.
**Google PHEOC, I would rather you play than contact a rusty bio teacher
